View Settings

View settings are used to configure the functionality and appearance of the board view. Some of the settings are required and were set during the board view setup.

View Settings

Period start date, Period months

Date of the first period and its duration. It's useful if, for example, your accounting period starts in the middle of the year, or you want to have to your periods aligned with your fiscal year.

Pressing back/forward button in the view will more to the next/previous period.

You can set budget values for dates before the "period start date". That's just a reference date to establish beginning of the period.

Level 1 - Level 4 (at least 1 level required)

Connect boards or Text column.

Columns to use for the 4 levels of references. You can use any boards or nomenclature. Your project may, for example, reference Clients, Projects (per Client), and Tasks (per Project).

Required levels (optional)

Number of required reference levels. You don't have to require any levels, but it usually makes sense to require at least one level.

Person column (optional)

Person column. Every row in the project may be assigned to a person.

Date column

Date column. This is required to store planning data in the main table.

Budget column

Number column. This is required to store planning data in the main table.

Status column (optional)

Status column. This is optional, but can be useful to track the status of each row in the planning view.

Show row totals (optional)

Show additional column with a total value for each row (only visible dates are summed).

Show row before/after totals (optional)

Show additional columns with a total values for each row. Before and after values are calculated from all the dates. Because of that, loading the board view may take longer.

Group by (optional)

GRoup rows by any combination of Person and Levels.

Units (optional)

Values will have the units displayed next to them.

Number format (optional)

Long numbers may be displayed in alternative formats to shorten them.

Week numbers (optional)

Display week number in the dates row.

Constraint column name prefix (optional)

Prefix for the column name used to identify columns used to restrict values for Levels 1 to 4. See Restricting values when adding new rows for more information.
